Man charged with fatally shooting cyclist in Grant Park

A man has been charged in a the fatal shooting of a cyclist in Grant Park earlier this week, according to Chicago police.

Eliel Argudo-Tenorio, 18, is charged with first-degree murder, police said.

Officers responded about 12:15 a.m. to a report of a person shot in the 300 block of East Jackson Drive, Chicago police said.

The 27-year-old victim was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk when he was shot in the leg.

The cyclist was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name has not been released by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Argudo-Tenorio is due in court Friday.
