BROOK PARK, Ohio – A man intentionally pushed over a display stand containing Little Debbie snacks at about 7 a.m. Jan 2 in Sunoco, 6313 Engle Road.
A Sunoco worker told police that the man bought a phone charger in the store using a credit card. A few minutes later he returned, saying he had purchased the wrong charger. He wanted to exchange it for the correct one.
The worker did not accept the return because the box containing the charger had been destroyed. He sold the man a different charger at a discounted price.
Moments later, the man returned to Sunoco with a woman. He and the woman argued inside the store. The worker told both of them to leave.
The man, while leaving, hit the Little Debbie snack display. The display rack collapsed to the floor and eight snacks were damaged. The man and woman drove away southbound on Engle in a Jeep Wrangler.
On Jan. 7, the Sunoco worker gave police a security-camera photo of the Jeep Wrangler’s license plate. Police traced the plate number to a 40-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, who lived together.
Police showed the Sunoco worker a photo of the man and the worker identified him as the man who had been in the store.
The Sunoco owner said he did not want to pursue charges against the man and woman but wanted them banned from the store.
Police called the woman and man, who denied being at the Sunoco station. Police told them they were no longer allowed at the Sunoco station.
