Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to pick up a child from an afterschool religious class at a church in Bristol on Wednesday.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious incident at St. Joseph School in Bristol during CCD pickup around 6:48 p.m. on Wednesday evening, according to the Bristol Police Department.
Police said a 9-year-old girl was with teachers when a man in a dark-colored SUV called her name several times, allegedly telling her to come to him. When staff members intervened the man sped off, according to police.
The child was unharmed, police said. According to police, her family did not recognize the man or the vehicle.
The suspect is described as a tan-skinned man who appeared to be 20 to 30 years old with dark curly hair. Investigators obtained two photos of the suspected SUV and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man, police said.
