Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan Visits Moorhead

The lieutenant governor is in the midst of her campaign for U.S. Senate.

MOORHEAD, MN (KVRR) – Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor stopped by Moorhead this weekend for some face time with local farmers – and prospective voters.

Peggy Flanagan is running for U.S. Senate, and as part of her campaign, she visited Prairie Rose Farm to learn more about agricultural business and local food systems.

Flanagan said it was very informative to hear from the farmers firsthand – and that she’s excited by the idea of leading a fresh charge in the Senate following the departures of Tina Smith and potentially Amy Klobuchar, who is running for governor.

“What’s important here is that we’ve got a long legacy of agriculture in Minnesota, and in order to make sure that we can continue that with small farms, family farms, it has to be invested in,” she said.

“Both Senator Klobuchar and Senator Smith served on the Ag Committee. I also want to serve on the Ag Committee. It’s incredibly important,” she added.

Flanagan followed up the visit to Prairie Rose with a door-knocking event in Moorhead and a powwow on the White Earth Reservation.
