The 6-foot-6, 195-pound wing — with a 6-10 wingspan — is the No. 72 player in the nation and the No. 29 small forward, according to 247Sports. The four-star committed to coach Matt McMahon and LSU after receiving offers from Miami, Auburn and Florida State.
Thomas, who attends Montverde Academy in Florida, is the third player McMahon adds to the Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class. He joins fellow four-star wings Herly Brutus, who is 6-5 from Florida, and Marcus Vaughns, who is a 6-8 from Australia.
Thomas averaged 11.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 turnovers per game for SOH Elite in the Under Armour AAU circuit this past summer. He shot 40% from the field, 32% from the 3-point line and 70% from the free-throw line.
Adam Finklestein, the director of scouting at 247Sports, described LSU’s newest recruit as “one of the very best athletes in the national class.” Along with being a high flyer, Thomas is an “improved shooter, who can now make open shots to the arc when he has room and rhythm.”
McMahon has brought in three high school recruits in each of the last two seasons at LSU.
After going 14-18 overall and 3-15 in the Southeastern Conference last year, LSU has almost an entirely brand new team with 11 new players for the 2025-26 season. The only returners are redshirt junior forward Jalen Reed and sophomore forward Robert Miller.
