Green, currently in his second term representing his West Bank district, was accused this week of first-offense driving while impaired, three counts of child endangerment and other related counts after an early-morning wreck on the West Bank.
Green was driving west on U.S. 90B at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday when his Honda Accord swerved off the road and struck a barrier, police said. Responding state troopers performed field sobriety tests and arrested Green on the scene, police said.
Green’s children, who had been in the vehicle, were released to another family member. Authorities said no one was injured in the crash.
An attorney, Green had pressed Republicans during debates in the ongoing state legislative session over so-called “tort reform” legislation.
