Letters: There is nothing positive about a public execution | Opinion

As each day brings the news of the actions and decisions of the current administration, I think they can’t possibly sink any lower. And then a new day brings a contradiction to my thinking.

Live-streaming an execution by firing squad is now on tap for later this year. Previously, No. 47 had been critical of public executions in Iran.

According to 47, anything Iran does is evil. But when similar actions are planned in a “Christian” nation, 47 is willing to give his approval. Hypocrisy is the password for functioning in the realm of the current administration.

Aside from what the secretary of defense (I refuse to use the new name they’ve given to the department) may say, there is nothing positive about making the execution available for public consumption.

Such streaming would only appeal to the most non-Christian, evil, depraved, barbaric segments of humanity.

God help us.
