I remember when Alaska sent lions to Washington. Ted Stevens with his “Incredible Hulk” tie. Don Young, a towering presence in a chamber of 435 members. What have we got now? A sheep named Sen. Dan Sullivan.

Not a bleat from Dan about thousands of our uniformed men and women marooned on ships in the Persian Gulf. How about a war started for little or no reason that has killed a lot of people and made everything worse? How about a deranged clown who calls himself “secretary of war” who, for some unknown reason, has fired some of America’s finest military commanders? From Sen. Sullivan — nothing.

They could make a sequel to “Silence of the Lambs” and call it “Silence of the Dan.” We can do better. Much better.
