Twenty-four people were arrested during a multi-jurisdictional sex offender verification operation, according to Las Vegas police.
In a news release, the Metropolitan Police Department said the sex offender verification operation took place between May 11 and 15.
The in-person operation aimed to ensure that sex offenders throughout Clark County were compliant with their registration, the release stated.
As part of the operation, 2,170 sex offenders were contacted, resulting in 11 arrests for failure to obey sex offender registration laws. Authorities said an additional 13 arrests were made for subjects with outstanding warrants.
The release identified the individuals who were arrested for failure to obey sex offender registration laws were David Conway, 45; Darnell Banks, 75; Charles Johnson, 55; Gino Mondino, 42; Ernest Ness, 52; Lamar Stringer, 24; Joseph Curtis, 41; David Morales, 36; Jermaine Faithe, 39; Diandre Mosby, 42; and Derrick Wheat, 44.
Participating agencies included Metro and its Sex Offender Apprehension Team, the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, the Nevada State Police parole and probation sex offender unit, and the Henderson, Boulder City, North Las Vegas and Clark County School District police departments.
