LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The White House spotlighted 16 ICE arrests, including one in Las Vegas, as it reaffirmed its commitment to apprehend and remove “scores of dangerous criminal illegal immigrants who were allowed to infiltrate our communities by incompetent politicians.”

Cesar Ivan Gomez-Mata was among 16 men listed in the White House email on Friday. He was described as a 39-year-old Mexican national who was arrested by ICE Las Vegas. The email said he has convictions for voluntary manslaughter and assault with a firearm.

No additional details were provided on Gomez-Mata. The brief description did not say where or when the convictions occurred. He is not listed in records from the Nevada Department of Corrections, the Clark County Detention Center or the Henderson Detention Center, where ICE detainees have been housed.

The email listed arrests of men from Mexico, Costa Rica, China, Sudan, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Cuba.

“Under President Donald J. Trump’s decisive leadership, illegal border crossings have plummeted to historic lows as the reckless open border policies of the past are dismantled and the rule of law is restored,” the White House email said.

“The Trump Administration remains relentless in our mission to apprehend and remove the scores of dangerous criminal illegal immigrants who were allowed to infiltrate our communities by incompetent politicians — and we will stop at nothing until these public safety threats have been taken off our streets,” it said.

The White House described the 16 arrests as only a tiny fraction of the criminal illegal immigrants taken off our streets in recent days.
