LANDER, Wyo. — The Laramie Police Department recently announced that, with the assistance of the DCI, it is actively investigating an incident that happened during the late evening hours of Jan. 9, involving a physical altercation at a local bar that, ultimately, led to the death of an adult male.
According to a release from the LPD, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a local establishment at approximately 11:15 p.m.
The release state that upon arrival, officers learned that a fight had occurred inside of the bar. Emergency personnel services were requested, and it was determined that one individual had succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased.
“At this time, the investigation remains ongoing,” the release states. “Detectives are continuing to gather evidence, review surveillance footage, and interview witnesses. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.”
The release notes that no additional information regarding the suspects, causes, or circumstances will be released at this time, in order to “protect the integrity of the investigation.”
“The Lander Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information related to this case to contact the Lander Police Department at 307-332-3401 amf ask for Sgt. Lutterman or Detective Mattocks,” the release states.

The Lander Police Department extended its condolences to the family and friends “affected by this incident.”
