Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office responds to officer-involved shooting in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is responding to an officer-involved shooting in north Lincoln on Wednesday.

At around 9:20 a.m., the sheriff’s office posted on social media that Superior Street from North 48th Street to Cornhusker Highway is closed due to the shooting.

Superior St. from N. 48th to Cornhusker is closed due to an officer involved shooting. One individual was taken to the hospital, no law enforcement was injured and there is no threat to the public. We will be releasing more information when it is available.

Officials said one person was taken to the hospital, and no law enforcement officers were injured.

There is no threat to the public, the sheriff’s office said.

The agency noted that more information will be released once it is available.

People are asked to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing.
