Warren East’s softball team claimed a pair of road victories over the weekend, topping Edmonson County 9-5 on Friday and beating Elizabethtown 4-3 on Saturday.

Against Edmonson County, Kynleigh Barrick went 4-for-5 with two RBIs to lead the Lady Raiders. Jordan Brooks was 3-for-4 with a double and scored three runs, Kaylee Jones went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and an RBI, Tristen Lindsey was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Brooklynn Neville was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Avery Gidcumb went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Ada Childress chipped in with an RBI.

Autumn Brooks pitched all seven innings for the the complete-game win, allowing five runs (two earned) over seven innings. She struck out three batters.

Jones was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Jordan Brooks was 2-for-3.

Autumn Brooks earned the win in relief, allowing just an unearned run off three hits and a walk with three strikeouts over three innings.

Warren East (12-12) is at District 15 rival Glasgow on Monday.

Edmonson County (10-14) is at Metcalfe County on Monday.

Franklin-Simpson 3, Notre Dame 2

Franklin-Simpson split a pair of games in the Catholic Classic on Saturday, falling 10-3 in six innings to Apollo and beating Notre Dame 3-2 at Jack C. Fisher Park in Owensboro.

Jayden Kough tallied a double and an RBI, and Lilly Ferguson also notched an RBI for the Lady Wildcats against Apollo.

Ferguson drove in two runs to pace the offense against Notre Dame. Kloie Smith added a double and scored a run.

Piper West fired a complete game to earn the win, allowing two runs (one earned) over six innings. She struck out two.

Franklin-Simpson (18-12) is home against Barren County on Monday.

Baseball

Greenwood 7, ACS 2

Ethan York stuck out 14 batters in a complete-game win as Greenwood topped host Allen County-Scottsville 7-2 on Friday.

York allowed just two unearned runs off one hit and one walk over seven innings.

Bryce Mangold homered and drove in two runs for the Gators. Henry Justice was 2-for-3, Jackson Lee went 2-for-4, Kioshi Une and Josiah Groff each drove in a run, and Chase Huff had a double and scored a run.

Greenwood (17-9) hosts District 14 foe Warren Central on Monday.

ACS (11-14) is home against District 15 rival Warren East on Monday.

Logan County 11, Metcalfe County 3

Logan County picked up an 11-3 road win at Metcalfe County on Saturday.

Landon Gregory went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Cougars. Lyndon Wilson was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, TySean Thomeczek went 3-for-4 and scored twice, Mason Hancock was 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, Liam Costello was 2-for-5 with an RBI, Drew McLellan drove in a run and Jonas Hayes tallied a double.

Brody Bush drew the start on the mound and earned the win, allowing three runs (two earned) over six innings. He struck out three.

On Friday, the Cougars fell 4-3 at home to Marshall County. McLellan and Hayes each notched an RBI.

Logan County (15-12) is home to take on District 13 foe Franklin-Simpson on Monday.

Edmonson County 8, TCC 1

Drew Pierce went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to boost homestanding Edmonson County to an 8-1 win against Todd County Central on Friday.

Hunter Wilson added a home run and two RBIs, and Jacob Logan and Logan Key each chipped in with an RBI.

Logan fired a complete-game one-hitter for the win, allowing just an unearned run. He struck out five.

Edmonson County (10-13) is at District 12 foe Butler County on Monday.

Glasgow 13, Monroe County 4

Hudson Gumm went 4-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs to spark visiting Glasgow to a 13-4 win against Monroe County on Monday.

Carter Hodges was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. JP Pitcock was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Keaton Haynes drove in two runs, and Garett Shields added a double and an RBI for the Scotties.

Braylen Caldwell started and earned the win, allowing four runs (one earned) over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out three.

Glasgow (15-14) hosts District 15 rival Barren County on Monday.

Boys’ lacrosse

South Warren 15, Castle 7

Haydon Bird scored nine goals to lead visiting South Warren to a 15-7 win against Castle (Indiana) on Saturday in Evansville, Indiana.

Austin Kitchens added two goals and two assists, Barrett Bezkor and Mason Black each tallied a goal and two assists, Brendan Bird finished with a goal and an assists, Eli Vaughn scored a goal, and Jacob Settl and Aiden Mihok each came up with an assist.

Goaltender Cody Woods totaled 24 saves for South Warren (13-3).
