In court documents obtained Wednesday by KCCI, a trial has been set for July 12, 2027 in Dallas County. The defense has until Oct. 15 to file for a pre-trial change of venue, which defense attorneys did not rule out during a hearing last week.
Ramsey is accused of shooting and killing Okland in April 2011 when Okland was hosting an open house for a townhome in West Des Moines. Ramsey was back in court last week while both sides argued over a motion to dismiss filed by the defense. Her lawyers claim inconsistencies with eyewitness testimony and incomplete evidence provided by prosecutors misled a grand jury.
The judge has not yet ruled on the motions discussed at last week’s hearing.
