Kerry Gagnon

Claremont, NH – Kerry Michael Gagnon passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Claremont, New Hampshire, to Eugene and Leona (LaFont) Gagnon. He received his early education at St. Mary’s Catholic School through eighth grade and later graduated from Stevens High School in 1972. During his time at St. Mary’s, Kerry proudly played percussion for the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Years later, the group reunited, and Kerry enjoyed marching in parades once again.

After high school, Kerry followed the family trade of masonry and became a fourth-generation bricklayer. What began with Kerry’s skill and work ethic grew into KM Gagnon Inc., a successful commercial masonry business he built with the steady support of his wife, Jana. For many years, they worked side by side, building not only a business, but a family legacy. Later, their son, Corey, joined Kerry in the trade, learning from his father and carrying forward the tradition that had been passed down through generations. With the torch now passed to Corey, K.M. Gagnon’s legacy will continue.

Kerry loved his work and often said he never worked a day in his life. He became a respected mentor in the masonry trade and was considered a legend by many who had the privilege of working alongside him. He also gave back to his community, generously donating his time and talents to many projects throughout Claremont. His work can be found all across New Hampshire and Vermont.

Kerry and his wife, Jana, were high school sweethearts who shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. They were best friends, business partners, and true companions in life. Together, they enjoyed many years of travel, especially to the Caribbean. In 2024, they took the trip of a lifetime to Bora Bora, Tahiti, and Moorea.

He was a natural mathematician and was always willing to help his children and grandchildren solve even the most difficult math problems. He loved music, history, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, gardening, and time spent at the farm on Jarvis Hill. Riding his tractor there was one of the simple joys he loved most. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.

Kerry is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jana; his mother, Leona Gagnon; his sister, Pamela Smith; and his children, Sara Maccioli and her husband, Chris, Corey Gagnon and his wife, Diane, and Molly DeLuca and her husband, Josh.

He adored his seven grandchildren, Cameron, Hunter, MaKayla, Owen, Brayden, Max, and Finley. He also leaves behind his granddog, Josie, with whom he shared a very special bond; his brothers-in-law, William Bourgoine and Robert Bourgoine and his wife, Jill; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Gagnon; his siblings, Thomas Gagnon and Gloria Dichard; his sister-in-law, Nancy Bourgoine; and his brother-in-law, William Smith.

No matter the challenge, Kerry faced it head-on. He was always the family’s go-to person. He truly was a “MacGyver” and could solve any problem. He was the rock of his family and will be deeply missed. Just as Kerry was always there for them, his family remained close by his side, devoted to him with love and gratitude in his final days. His legacy will carry on through his children and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and care team at Dartmouth and the Lake Sunapee VNA for the kindness, compassion, and care they showed Kerry and his family.

A private service will be held for the family.

“Time it was, and what a time it was . . . it was.”
