Join The Summer Team At Yellowstone National Park Today

Summer plans are at the top of many travelers’ minds this time of the year. Where will the vacation winds blow them this year? If you look at social media groups, like the Yellowstone National Park group, people have been planning to make their way to Yellowstone for years. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime trip for many, just because of the cost, the distance they have to travel, and the financial impact it will have.

What if I told you that you could live and work in one of the most popular National Park travel destinations in the world? Oh, yeah, you could be the first smiling face that excited park visitors will see. The park is hiring friendly, highly knowledgeable, passionate Recreation Fee Technicians for the 2026 summer season, but you’ll need to apply quickly. The deadline to apply is March 8, and there are only 300 positions available, not only at Yellowstone, but at parks nationwide.

The pay is pretty good; you can make anywhere between $17.45 and $25.37 per hour. Here’s a list of duties you’ll need to handle.

Recreation Fee Clerk & Technician Standard Duties:

  • Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area’s recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession-operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc.
  • Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds.

Additional duties for GS-04:

  • Operate an electronic cash register, computer, or Point of Sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions; perform opening and closing functions; issue entrance receipts, tour tickets, permits, etc.
  • Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies, and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for needed equipment/supplies.

Additional duties for GS-05:

  • Assist higher-level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g., cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, automated fee machines or AFMs, donation boxes, etc.); assist in completing audit paperwork and documenting findings; communicate audit results to supervisor.
  • Prepare and complete remittance reports and bank deposits for funds donated and/or collected by others. Review shift reports and count funds collected; Investigate and proactively resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, and track overages, shortages, and errors.

If it sounds like something you want to pursue, jump on it and apply HERE.
