JERICHO, Vt. (WCAX) – Route 117 in Jericho was closed Wednesday morning after a two-car crash that took down utility poles.
Cody Fischer witnessed the crash and attempted to help the victims. “When I initially ran out to the first car that I could see on the side of the road that was up against the bank, I ran over to that one and I started assisting the people in that car. And then there was another lady behind me that came up and said, there’s another car that I ran past — I didn’t even see it — it was squished so small that I didn’t even see it when I went by,” he said.
There was no immediate word from authorities on any injuries.
There were 17 power outages reported in Jericho and 54 in Richmond.
Drivers were being encouraged to seek alternate routes.
