Neither White nor Williams’ office have commented on subpoenas from Murrill’s defense attorneys that were signed Tuesday by Robert Chaisson, a retired state appeals court judge appointed to oversee the case against Murrill after all 12 criminal court judges recused.
The subpoenas direct Williams and White to surrender records by 5 p.m. Friday, as Murrill’s attorneys aim to root out the origins of the grand jury’s interest in Murrill.
Along with any correspondence involving the grand jury, Roche, Murrill or the charges she faces, her attorneys want Williams to turn over communication with Moreno, City Council President JP Morrell, former Congressman Cedric Richmond, state Sen. Gary Carter or news media.
