ATLANTA, Georgia — Jack’s Donuts, the Southern bakery chain known for its classic pastries and decades-long presence, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the company confirmed on social media.
The company said the filing affects the franchisor and related corporate entities, but independently owned franchise locations are not part of the proceedings.
“This is a court-supervised process,” Jack’s Donuts said, noting that it has “plans for continued and uninterrupted future operations” that will be submitted as part of the bankruptcy case.
Despite the filing, Jack’s Donuts emphasized that its stores remain open and employees are continuing their work.
“Jack’s Donuts has been about more than donuts — it’s been about people,” it said. “As we move through this process, our focus is the same: to ensure that the Jack’s experience continues for generations to come.”
The company also thanked customers for their support during the process. Independent franchise locations will continue operating as usual.
Jack’s Donuts has been a staple for more than 60 years, earning a reputation for classic, freshly made pastries and a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.
Founded in the 1960s, the chain has grown from a single shop into a regional favorite, known not only for its donuts but also for its commitment to serving local communities.
