BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Fans heading to Saturday’s Indiana University football game are being encouraged to stay hydrated, with IU Athletics expanding access to free water stations and allowing additional water containers inside Memorial Stadium.

IU Athletics has doubled the number of free, multi-unit water stations compared with Week 1, with stations now located on both the east and west concourses at Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium.

Fans attending the noon matchup against Howard may also bring one sealed, clear, non-glass water bottle into the stadium. The bottle’s safety seal must be unbroken upon entry.

Spectators can instead bring one empty, refillable, non-glass water container and fill it at one of the stadium’s water stations.

Bottled water will also be available for purchase at concession locations throughout the stadium.

With temperatures forecast to reach 85 degrees under partly cloudy skies, IU Athletics is encouraging fans to drink plenty of water before, during and after the game.

Misting stations will be positioned throughout the Memorial Stadium concourse to provide additional relief from the heat.

First-aid stations are located on the east and west concourses. Fans needing assistance can contact 812-369-MYIU (6948), while 911 should be called in an emergency.

Saturday’s game against Howard is scheduled to kick off at noon.
