HGTV has been on a cancelation spree lately.
The stars of “Bargain Block,” “Battle on the Beach,” “Farmhouse Fixer,” “Izzy Does It,” and “Married to Real Estate” all recently revealed that their shows weren’t picked up for another season. So, what about HGTV’s highest-rated freshman series for adults since fall 2022, “The Flip Off?”
According to a Tuesday, July 15, Us Weekly report, “The Flip Off” is expected to return for season 2, but a filming date has not been set. The competitive home renovation show stars ex-spouses Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa, as well as Tarek’s new wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.
Christina and Tarek were married from 2009 to 2018 and share daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9. Christina also shares 5-year-old son Hudson with her ex-husband Ant Anstead, while Tarek and Heather share 2-year-old son Tristan.
In January, Tarek told Us Weekly that the idea for “The Flip Off” stemmed from Christina “talking smack on the soccer field about how she’s a better flipper.” The exes get along while filming their HGTV show, even though Christina and Heather both like to tease Tarek.
“[Christina] and I don’t fight. She picks on Tarek all the time, and then I jump in. But he takes it well,” Heather told the outlet.
“The Flip Off” isn’t the only HGTV show that the trio are involved in. According to Us Weekly’s Tuesday report, “The Flipping El Moussas,” which stars Tarek and Heather, and “Christina on the Coast,” which stars Christina, have not been renewed.

Amid HGTV’s recent cancelation bloodbath, some fans feared for the future of another series: “Rehab Addict.” After season 9 stopped airing after just two episodes, the show’s star, Nicole Curtis, set the record straight via Instagram.

“I made the executive decision to shelf the rest of our new shows until Fall. I appreciate your support and understanding for the late notice,” she wrote. “It’s just a lot of hours (my hours) to get a show on air and we (my family +me) thought — why are we giving up Summer when we have the ability to do this in the Fall?”
Curtis noted that she “chose” to have “My Lottery Dream Home” replace “Rehab Addict” on HGTV’s summer schedule, and she is “beyond happy” with the decision.
