LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska cornerback Danny Odem III was nominated as a possible Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award winner.
The preseason list was announced on Aug. 26. 37 players were featured on this list.
Of the 37 on the list, 12 are defensive players.
Odem comes to Nebraska as a five-star recruit and was rated overall No. 19 player in the class of 2026. He was also selected to play in the Navy All-American Bowl.
14 semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 3 and the winner will be announced on Dec. 28.
