The Ottawa-Kent Conference Red championship picture will come into sharper focus Friday night when the Hudsonville Eagles (6-2, 5-1) travel to Falcon Stadium to face the undefeated East Kentwood Falcons (8-0, 6-0) in a 7 p.m. regular-season finale.
East Kentwood has already clinched at least a share of the league title after last week’s 63-31 rout of Holland West Ottawa, but Hudsonville can force a three-way tie with Caledonia (6-2, 5-1) with a victory over the Falcons.

Hudsonville enters riding a three-game winning streak under head coach Brent Sandee, including last week’s 17-14 nail-biter over Rockford. The two-time reigning Red Division champions have employed a three-quarterback rotation featuring juniors Trey Snip and Donovan Terres alongside senior Tyler Floriana, with Snip taking the majority of snaps and developing strong chemistry with receiver Wyatt VanAssen. The Eagles’ only league loss came in Week 5 against Caledonia, but they’ve responded with three consecutive victories to stay in the championship conversation.
East Kentwood has been dominant all season, winning every contest by at least 21 points while averaging 49.5 points per game. Head coach Tyrone Spencer’s squad is led by senior transfer quarterback Colin O’Connor, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound signal-caller from California who has seamlessly stepped into the starting role. O’Connor has plenty of weapons at his disposal, including senior wideout Stephan Jones and senior running back Dallas Moody.
The matchup carries extra weight given the recent playoff history between these programs — they have met in the postseason each of the last two years, with each team claiming one victory. Hudsonville won both meetings in 2024, including a 25-23 district semifinal, while East Kentwood avenged a 43-42 regular-season loss last October with a 52-28 regional final victory in November 2025.
Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, October 23 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
