I can’t predict the future, really, not sure that’s a superpower that I would like, but I can tell by looking at the last couple of events that the Urban Thistle Farm & Market has had, that things are looking extremely bright for their next event, which is coming up on Earth Day, April 22.

So far this year, Urban Thistle, part of the Casper Housing Authority and located in North Casper, has had two incredible markets. The first was the “Winter Market” in February, and the second was the “Spring Market” in March. According to the program’s director, Jamie Purcell, the first was great, and the second was twice as great.

The Earth Day event may have a different feel than the two previous events, but Purcell is excited for the day to arrive.
We are very excited to kick off the season of working at the farm with the Earth Day event and hope many people will come, not only to see the farm, but also to learn about ways they can be involved in creating this community asset.
If things continue to go in the same direction, the Earth Day event could be out of this world successful. Again, I can’t predict the future, but I have enough confidence in the hard work the team has put into the program that I’ll say it’ll be worth the time to stop in and check out everything available.

If you love to work in the garden or want to learn about working in the garden, this event is right up your alley, and you can bring the kids and get them involved. There will be fun, free garden giveaways, activities, and crafts for all ages, and you’ll have the chance to get your hands dirty at the first volunteer day of the season.
The event will be held at the Urban Thistle Garden and Market, located at 1014 Glenarm St, Casper, WY.
