The final four women in Paris compete for a spot in a Grand Slam Final, as the women’s semifinals at Roland-Garros 2025 is set for Thursday.

The first semifinal of the day is the one everyone is excited to see, pitting the Queen of Clay, Iga Swiatek, against the world No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka.

Swiatek might not have been playng well for the first part of 2025, but her return to Paris has been fruitful, playing like her former self, moving closer to a potential fourth straight championship match at Roland-Garros.

As good as she is on the hard courts, Sabalenka has only come so far on the clay in a major, with this being her second trip to the semifinals in Paris.

Both players have yet to lose a set.

the other semifinal seems to be a David vs. Goliath matchup, though that has mattered little to one player.

Coco Gauff is back in the semifinals in Paris for the third time in four years, and is one win away from getting to the championship for the first time in three years. She’s coming off a hard-fought win against fellow countrywoman Madison Keys in the semifinals.

Lois Boissan, the 361st-ranked player in the world, had won just one top-tier tennis match in her career heading into the tournament. Yet, she has been a giant killer, beating Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva to be the first Frenchwoman to make it to the final four at Roland-Garros in 14 years.
