After a day off, the ALCS picks back up on Wednesday, Oct. 15 with Game 3 taking place at T-Mobile Park in Seattle where the Toronto Blue Jays are still looking for their first win of the series against the Seattle Mariners.
The game is scheduled to start at 8:08 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on FS1 and FOX Deportes. The Mariners are two wins away from their first World Series appearance in team history and they are now set to host either two or three games in the ALCS. On Wednesday, they will turn to George Kirby who went five innings in each of his ALDS starts against the Detroit Tigers, both of which ended up in extra innings. Seattle lost Game 1 of the series, 3-2 in 11, when Kirby allowed 2 runs and six hits while getting eight strikeouts, and then Seattle won Game 5 and the series about a week later with Kirby getting six Ks and only allowing 1 run on three hits in a 3-2 win in 15.
The Blue Jays are in what is essentially a must-win, and they are giving Shane Bieber the ball for his second postseason start this year, and first since Game 3 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees when he allowed 2 earned runs, but 3 runs total, and was out of the game after 2.2 innings and 54 pitches.
After dominating their AL East rivals last series, Toronto’s bats have simmered down in two games against the Mariners. First baseman Vlad Guerrero Jr. is hitless through two games after going 9-17 with three home runs, 9 RBI, five runs and at least one hit in each game in four contests last series. Meanwhile, Seattle first baseman, Josh Naylor, is coming off a three-hit performance in the 10-3 Game 2 win in which he provided a 2-run homer.
