The top-seeded Grizzlies traveled to Front Royal on New Year’s Day and defeated the defending VHSL 3A state champions. Grassfield won 10 of 14 matches, including a victory by fall in 2:25 by Christian Funches over Nathan Flessner in the 285-pound weight class. The Grizzlies compete in Chantilly’s Joe Verciglio Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
