The Conway Chamber of Commerce will present one Conway-area student a $1,000 scholarship to continue their educational journey, Horry-Georgetown Technical College announced.
HGTC, the presenting sponsor of the 58th Annual Salute to Education, a long-standing community event hosted by the chamber, says the event aims to celebrate academic excellence and educational leadership across the Conway area.
“The Salute to Education reflects the very heart of our mission, championing student success and honoring the educators who make that success possible,” said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, President of Horry-Georgetown Technical College, in the release.
“Our College is proud to serve as the presenting sponsor of this meaningful event and to invest directly in the future of a Conway-area student through this scholarship. Partnerships like this strengthen our community and reinforce the value of education as a pathway to opportunity.”
Eligible applicants must be high school seniors attending a Conway-area school or residing in Conway. They also must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average. Applications must include two essays, a photograph, an unofficial high school transcript, and a letter of recommendation from a school guidance counselor or principal.
