A man was arrested Monday in Searcy after a sting operation revealed he sent sexual messages and made plans to meet with an undercover investigator posing as a minor, authorities said Wednesday.
Jacob Fletcher, 39, of Harrison began communicating with a social media account he believed belonged to an underage girl on June 19, according to a Wednesday news release from the White County sheriff’s office. The account was actually run by a sheriff’s office investigator.
Fletcher sent messages about “having sexual relations with the minor” and made travel plans to pick her up in Searcy and take her to his home in Harrison.
On Monday, Fletcher arrived at the home where he believed the minor lived and was met by officials from the White County sheriff’s office, FBI Little Rock field office, Homeland Security and the Arkansas State Police internet crimes against children task force, the release said.
Fletcher was arrested and charged with Class Y felony internet stalking of a child, the release stated.
Fletcher was being held in the White County jail Wednesday afternoon with no bond set.
