MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A free event in Muskegon will offer a chance for babies and toddlers to play and explore the world around them.
Hackley Public Library is hosting a Baby and Toddler Sensory Program on May 28 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The outdoor event will offer several toys and play stations where they can explore, feel and touch things, community engagement coordinator Mallory Metzger said.
“We’ve done one of these programs before, and it was amazing to see all the babies and toddlers really exploring with the different sensory toys around them,” she said.

Last year, some of the play stations included sandboxes with toys inside and arts and craft materials.
“Babies and toddlers, they are very excited to explore the world around them and curious to touch different things, to explore different things,” Metzger said. “We will have a variety of toys and play stations that really engage with the senses and give the babies and toddlers the chance to really have fun.”

She added that the event also gives parents and caregivers a chance to help their babies and toddlers explore.
“It’s just a really fun time to come together and learn and grow as a family,” she said. “We’re really excited for that. And it’s free to enjoy.”
The hands-on event will be messy, so participants should wear clothes that can get dirty or wet.
