The Lady Toppers climbed up seven spots from round one after finishing the first day in 10th place. WKU finished round two in seventh place. The team’s round three score of 5-under par 279 tied for the second-best team round score in program history.
Hackett’s win was the third of her career, which now stands alone as the third most in program history by an individual player.
“I’m super proud of the team’s confidence today,” WKU coach Adam Gary said in a news release. “It was a great end to the fall season. We have lots of positives to take away going into the offseason. Sydney played amazing. She makes it look easy and she’s fun to coach. The freshman played well for the fall. I’m impressed with how they contributed right away.”
Hackett finished the tournament with a 65, a career low round score for the senior. That score is tied for the third lowest in program history. Her 11-under 202 score for the tournament is also a career low and is the second lowest 54-hole score in WKU history.
