Gunshots reported at funeral for Little Rock homicide victim

Little Rock police responded to a shots fired call Saturday at the funeral for a man who was fatally shot earlier this month.

People who had gathered at Fellowship Christian Church, 8923 Sunset Lane, for the funeral of Dillian Cheeter, 18, of Little Rock reported hearing the gunshots at 2:10 p.m., Little Rock police spokesman Mark Edwards said. No injuries were reported, Edwards said, and police had not announced any arrests as of Saturday evening.

Cheeter was fatally shot early July 5 after an altercation at the Superstop gas station, 5103 Asher Ave., Little Rock.

Two others, whom police have not publicly identified, were injured in the shooting.

Charles McCrary, 20, was arrested Tuesday on a capital murder charge in the case.

McCrary was being held in the Pulaski County jail Saturday afternoon with no bond set. He has pleaded not guilty in Little Rock District Court and is next set to appear in court on Sept. 15.
