The 83rd Golden Globes, Hollywood’s iconic “boozy, bubbly kickoff” to awards season, will air live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills today, Sunday Jan. 11. The ceremony starts at 8 p.m. Eastern on CBS.

Tonight’s special is also available to view live for free via multiple streaming platforms.

Back by popular demand, comedian and actor Nikki Glaser returns as the sole host for a second consecutive year. Known for her sharp, self-aware humor, she described the ceremony as “Ozempic’s biggest night” to AP. Glaser earned rave reviews during her 2025 debut and helped draw about 10 million viewers, making the Globes the third-most-watched awards show after the Oscars and Grammys. Glaser called her return “the most fun I have ever had in my career,” and promised a monologue as edgy as it is respectful.

Golden Eve: The pre-show special

The Globes introduced a brand-new primetime special titled Golden Eve, airing Thursday, Jan. 8. This glamorous gala honored Hollywood stars Helen Mirren and Sarah Jessica Parker ahead of today’s ceremony.

  • Cecil B. DeMille Award: Dame Helen Mirren, Oscar-winner for “The Queen,” Golden Globe recipient, and current nominee for “MobLand.”
  • Carol Burnett Award: Television icon Sarah Jessica Parker, celebrated for “Sex and the City” and her role as producer, with six Globes and two Emmys to her credit.

Headline nominees

  • Top film nominee: “One Battle After Another” dominates with nine nominations, including acting nods for Leonardo DiCaprio and Chase Infiniti, along with director Paul Thomas Anderson.
  • Drama runner-up: “Sentimental Value,” a Danish film, grabs eight nominations, highlighting star Renate Reinsve.
  • Comedy vs. drama: “One Battle” is classified as a comedy. Competing against DiCaprio are Timothée Chalamet (“Marty Supreme”) and George Clooney (“Jay Kelly”). Infiniti contends with Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked: For Good”), Emma Stone (“Bugonia”) and Rose Byrne (“If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”).
