George E. McNeff Jr.
Bradenton , FL – George Edward McNeff, Jr., 84, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on April 16, 2026, at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Born in Everett, MA, he spent most of his life in Penacook, NH, where he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
George proudly served as a United States Marine before building a long career as a heavy equipment mechanic for Chadwick-Baross in Concord, NH. He was rarely still – cruising in his red Comet, camping, snowmobiling, motorcycling, or tinkering with cars. In his later years, weekends at his camp at Cape Neddick, ME, and visits to extended family in Nova Scotia filled his heart. At Golf Lakes in Bradenton, he loved the pool, the beach, golfing, and live music.
A natural jokester and talented artist, those who knew him describe him the same way: bigger than life, jolly, and one of a kind. He had a gift for friendship and collected people wherever he went – but his favorite role of all was Bumpa to his grandchildren. His presence is irreplaceable.
He is survived by his daughters Jacquie Gay of St. Augustine, FL, and Jessica McNeff (Pat Dinan) of Concord, NH; his niece Candace (Bill) Fitzgerald of Penacook, NH; his grandchildren Anna (Benji) Cueni, Sadie (Danny) Baker, Skylar Gay, Danny Dinan, Conor Fitzgerald, and Grady Fitzgerald; his siblings Arthur (Eileen) McNeff of Weeks Mills, ME, Robert (Francine) McNeff of Penacook, NH, Mary (Brian) Kulacz of Wilmot, NH, and Patric (Laureen) McNeff of Dana Point, CA; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family in Nova Scotia.
He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey McNeff of Concord, NH; his parents George Sr. and Rita McNeff; and his siblings Dianne, Charlie, Kevin, and Ronnie.
A graveside service will be held later this summer at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
