Three-star wide receiver and Class of 2027 recruit Gary Burney has flipped his commitment from Houston to LSU, he announced on social media Sunday.
Burney is the No. 22 player in Louisiana and the No. 104 wideout in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite. He attends Parkway High in Bossier City and is the sixth recruit from the state to commit to LSU’s 2027 class.
He had been committed to Houston since May 30. He also holds scholarship offers from Baylor, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
Burney is a track athlete who competed in the 200-meter dash and the 4×100 relay as a sophomore and junior.
Burney is the 14th player to commit to LSU from the 2027 class. He’s the fourth wide receiver, joining four-star recruits Braylon Calais, Cade Cooper and Ah’Mari Stevens.
Prior to Burney’s commitment, LSU had the No. 20 recruiting class in the nation and the seventh-best class in the Southeastern Conference.
