Funny Bone Comedy Club is set to reopen Friday in Virginia Beach’s Pembroke Square with a slate of well-known acts scheduled this year.
Upcoming shows include Marlon Wayans, Jeff Arcuri, Desi Banks, T.J. Miller and Kam Patterson, said Todd Leinenbach, vice president of Funny Bone and DraftCade.
The club’s original location in nearby Town Center closed Nov. 30. The new locale and larger footprint will help attract higher profile comedians and larger audiences, Leinenbach has said. The club’s seating capacity has increased from 300 to 450.
Funny Bone will celebrate its grand reopening alongside DraftCade, an arcade bar slated to open Jan. 22.
“Our goal is to be the funnest place in town,” Leinenbach said in a release.
The two next-door entertainment venues — connected on the interior — are part of the Pembroke Mall redevelopment project. Both feature updated and unique food menus.

DraftCade carries 48 rotating beer taps, including a mix of local craft and national brews. The venue, with ’70s to ’90s arcade vibes, features more than 90 retro and modern games and 28 large-screen TVs.
A separate party room can host private events of up to 100 people. Unlimited gaming costs $10 per person.
Both venues have increased staffing to a combined 150 employees and are still hiring, Leinenbach said.
