CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — A former senior investigator for West Virginia’s Commission on Special Investigations has been reindicted on child pornography charges.

According to the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, a federal grand jury handed down a superseding indictment against Kenneth McCord. The charges in the new indictment are seven counts related to coercing and attempting to coerce three minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct and using a phone, computer, or other means to transmit those images through interstate and foreign commerce.

Earlier this year, McCord was originally indicted on charges related to coercing two minor victims, while the new indictment includes a third victim. According to court documents, McCord allegedly coerced one victim around July 3, 2024, another around January 4, 2025, and the third some time between March 4, 2024, and Feb. 4, 2025.

An earlier criminal complaint said one victim was a California teen. It said an FBI agent reviewed the contents of the teen’s iPad and found messages containing several nude and sexually explicit photos of “what appeared to be an adult male” that were sent to the teenager and some explicit images sent from the teen to the contact called “Ken” between Jan. 4, 2025, and Feb. 4, 2025.

Following McCord’s arrest in March 2025, a spokesperson for the West Virginia Senate told WOWK 13 News that McCord had been terminated from his position as a senior investigator for West Virginia’s Commission on Special Investigations
