Former New Mexico State Police officer pleads guilty in fraud case

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A former New Mexico State Police officer is pleading guilty to three different charges. Former NMSP Officer Morgan Ortiz was accused of participating in a fraud scheme related to the Medicaid program over the course of March 2019 to April 2021.

Man charged in fatal Española Blake’s Lotaburger shooting pleads guilty in federal court

On Thursday, Ortiz pleaded guilty to fraudulent representation, conspiracy to commit identity theft, and practicing medicine without a license. Ortiz will be sentenced to no more than three years at the initial sentencing, but could serve up to 21 years if he violates probation.
