FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas men’s basketball wing Karter Knox committed to Louisville out of the transfer portal on Wednesday, per a report from On3. Knox, who announced he was entering the portal on April 3, averaged 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in his sophomore season.
Knox missed 14 of the final 15 games. He tore his meniscus after a brief return and wanted to be back for the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 and was “so close,” he said after the season-ending loss to Arizona on March 26.
He tested the NBA Draft waters after his freshman season before deciding to return to Arkansas. He was projected to be a second-round pick if he had stayed in the draft. Knox averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in his debut season and was a key piece of the Razorbacks’ NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 run.

Knox was the first Arkansas player to announce his intention to leave in the portal and is the first to commit elsewhere. D.J. Wagner, Karim Rtail and Elmir Dzafic have also entered the portal.
As of Wednesday, Arkansas had landed two portal commitments: Furman center Cooper Bowser and Georgia guard Jeremiah Wilkinson.
Knox joined a strong early portal class for the Cardinals, who are entering their third year under coach Pat Kelsey. Louisville has also gotten the commitments of Kansas big man Flory Bidunga and Oregon guard Jackson Shelstad, who were both highly coveted players.
