THANKS TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
CASPER, Wyo. — While America celebrates its freedom every summer on the Fourth of July, this year the holiday will also mark the country’s 250th anniversary — and the Ford Wyoming Center is planning a celebration befitting the milestone.
According to Ford Wyoming Center Director of Marketing Kendra Ziler, the event is still in the planning stages, and organizers are looking for community input to make it as special an event as possible.
“If people have ideas of what they want to see, a contact or a suggestion, they should definitely reach out,” she said. “This is going to be big, so we want it to be something the whole community can enjoy.”
Ziler also said the events center is looking for a variety of vendors, from food trucks to artisans, to take part in the event. She added that it will be waiving the fee for vendors for the event.
Prospective vendors and other members of the public can find more information at the center’s website, Ziler said.
Much of the July 4 event’s details are still up in the air, including plans for live entertainment throughout the day, food and beverage options, the time gates will open and more. Some of the planning is being done alongside Visit Casper and the various local governments in an effort to coordinate the various events that will be going on throughout Natrona County, Ziler added.
“I’m hoping to get things like some reenactments or community choirs or other performances like that throughout the day,” she said, “and then I’m also looking to see if I can get some funding and assistance to help with things like bands.”
Ziler also said plans are in the works with some local attractions for demonstrations throughout the day, though agreements aren’t yet finalized.
However, she added that the event is confirmed to feature a raffle with several prizes, a plethora of large inflatables for children to enjoy and a fireworks display larger than those of past July 4 holidays.
“We have a lot of ideas, but just haven’t ironed out all the details yet,” she said.
