STUDIO CITY, Calif. (KABC) — Firefighters raced to rescue a driver trapped in a car that tumbled down a hillside after it veered off Mulholland Drive in Studio City.

The crash was reported at 7:20 a.m. in the 8500 block of Mulholland Drive, just east of the Autry Overlook, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The vehicle plunged between as many as 150 feet down the embankment, leaving a 30-year-old woman trapped inside, the LAFD said. No passengers were in the vehicle.

Firefighters responded on the ground and via helicopter, and video from AIR7 showed them working to extract her from the car.

The cause of the single-vehicle crash was unknown.
