The fire fully engulfed the play equipment at Wiggums Hollow Park, destroying the main play structure.
EVERETT — Everett Fire Department is investigating a playground fire that destroyed the main play structure at Wiggums Hollow Park on Monday morning.
Around 9:47 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to reports of play equipment on fire at 2808 10th Street. Units arrived at the scene to find the equipment was fully engulfed in flames, according to an Everett Fire Department social media post.
The main equipment was a complete loss, according to Everett Fire Department spokesperson Rachael Doniger. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The play equipment area is closed until further notice, the post said.
