BOWLING GREEN — The family of Everett Earl Leasor is deeply saddened to announce his passing on September 16th, 2026 at the age of 83. Born on November 8, 1942, in Spottsville, KY, Everett lived a blessedly full life. Growing up in Henderson as the youngest of 5 siblings, he cultivated a rambunctious and loving spirit that he carried with him throughout his life. He graduated high school from Holy Name Catholic School in Henderson, Ky. After meeting the love of his life, Mary Strother, they both moved to Bowling Green, KY to attend Western Kentucky University in 1962.
They married in 1966, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in April 2026.
From getting in trouble at school on a daily basis for talking too much or counting the number of trucks driving down the street, to becoming the beloved principal of Rockfield Elementary from 1974-1999, education played a deeply important role in Everett’s life. After graduating from WKU, Everett and Mary both entered the workforce as teachers in the Warren County school system. After retiring in 1999 to spend more time with his family, he would regularly run into former students around Bowling Green, who always wanted to stop and connect with their principal.
While Everett carried the title of principal with pride, nothing held more importance to him than his titles of husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending quality time with his family – from building Lego sets to spending days at Disney World to playing silly games at restaurants – he brought joy and laughter everywhere he went. To know Everett Leasor was to love him and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Tracey; granddaughter, Emily; and beloved dogs, Sadie & Clea. He passed into the loving arms of Jesus at Hospice House of Bowling Green, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a visitation the evening prior held at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Funeral Chapel from 03:00 p.m. until 06:00 p.m. when a prayer service and tributes will be held in Everett’s honor.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that monetary donations be made to Hospice House of Southern Kentucky as well as the Alzheimer’s Association.
