Evacuations lifted along rivers in San Juan County

This comes after flooding left devastation for people in the Four Corners.

FARMINGTON, N.M. — Evacuations have been lifted near rivers in San Juan County in northern New Mexico where they have a long recovery after historic flooding.

County leaders stated Wednesday that all three rivers are below flood stage. All evacuations along the rivers have been lifted, as a result.

In Pagosa Springs, the San Juan River is back to normal levels. Highway 160 at the San Juan River is back open too but several downtown streets remain closed.

In Durango, town limits are open so residents can start cleaning up debris. If you’re able to help, they need volunteers to make sandbags to stop floodwater from damaging more homes. The American Red Cross is also looking for help at distribution sites.
