LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police evacuated residents and issued a shelter-in-place order Tuesday morning after a suspicious item was found in Goodsprings, roughly 40 miles southwest of Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call around 10 a.m. about a suspicious object at a property near Revere and Main streets. LVMPD units responded to the scene, and an active investigation is underway, police said.
Some nearby residents were evacuated or instructed to shelter in place as a precaution, police said.
Authorities were asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
