LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A gun owner was shot and killed with their own firearm inside a central Las Vegas business after a “very erratic” man grabbed the open-carry firearm off of them, according to Metro police.
On Friday around 4:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a man being shot inside a business in the 1200 block of Charleston Boulevard near Maryland Parkway. When officers arrived they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound inside. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Lt. Robert Price said during a media briefing Friday.
Police said a man entered the store and was acting “very erratic” when he attempted to grab an open-carry firearm off of another customer inside the business. The customer and the man struggled over the firearm, during which the man gained control of the firearm and shot the customer with his own gun, Price said
The suspect left the scene however, police located him about a block away from the scene and took him into custody.
