On Wednesday July 1, 2026 tow people climbed to the very top of New York’s Empire State Building. It immediately caught the attention of everyone because no one in their right mind would actually attempt this. These two were a bit different, however. These two had purpose climbing up there and they also came with a ton of experience.
The two people that climbed to the top are known daredevils, Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau. What they do terrifies me as I hate heights, but what an absolute rush it must have been for them to pull of this particular stunt.

What’s funny is that these two were highlighted for doing this exact thing in a Netflix documentary. It’s terrifying and romantic all at the same time. The 2024 Netflix documentary is called Skywalkers: A Love Story.
Their love brought them to the top of the world and they actually got engaged during this stunt. I think that is such a wonderful thing. I know that what they did is totally illegal and against all the rules, but at the end of the day they didn’t hurt anyone by doing this. They didn’t say anything bad. The flag they hung said “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace.” I don’t think that’s a bad message at all. It’s as rock and roll as it gets especially since the message can be attributed to Jimi Hendrix.

I do fully realize that they will have to face the consequences of their actions. The charges against them is long and includes, burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, violation of local law, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal tampering, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. However, this is a happy moment. I know they don’t want anyone else to do this, but let them go. We have a world that is full of negativity. This is powerful and uplifting. Just let them go be happy.
