EAST LONGMEADOW – A strong three touchdown performance from Westfield sophomore quarterback Aiden Purdy in a driving rain was not nearly enough for the Bombers to overtake the East Longmeadow High School football team in a special Thursday night showdown.

East Longmeadow quarterback Kevin Baker completed 7-of-16 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns, and running back Brandon Phillips, Jr., carried the ball 18 times for 180 yards and a TD, including a game-winning 54-yarder with 1:41 remaining in regulation to stun visiting Westfield at home, 27-20.
