Early voting will expand May 16 before the June 2 primary day.
BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. – Early voting for the June 2 primary starts May 5 in Bernalillo County, with same-day registration available and 21 sites opening later in the month.
Early voting begins Tuesday, May 5, at the Clerk’s Annex at 1500 Lomas Boulevard NW in Albuquerque.
From May 5 through May 15, voters can cast ballots and use same-day registration at the Clerk’s Annex Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
From May 16 through May 30, Bernalillo County will expand early voting and same-day registration to 21 locations across the county. Most locations will open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All locations will close Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day.
The June 2 primary will be the first election under New Mexico’s semi-open primary system. Bernalillo County said the change allows voters with no party affiliation to take part.
Voters affiliated with a major political party will receive that party’s ballot. Voters with no party affiliation may choose a major party ballot when they vote without changing their registration.
Voters can find early voting locations, sample ballots and other election details at berncoclerk.gov.
