Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes suffered a heartbreaking loss in straight sets to the Enderlin Eagles on Tuesday September 29th with the entire match fraught with ties and lead changes. The final set score would be 30-28, 27-25, 25-19.
The match started well for the Tornadoes as they quickly jumped to a 5-1 lead. The Eagles would battle back and take the lead at 6-5. The match would be back and forth the rest of the way with neither team able to pull away. The set would go to extra points and feature 15 ties and 8 lead changes. Oakes would get 2 opportunities to put the set away at 25-24 and 27-26 but the Eagles would end up winning the set on their 4th set point winning 30-28.
Set 2 would be even tighter as it’d be back and forth from the get go. There would be 16 ties and 10 lead changes on the set. Oakes would have a 24-21 lead late but they wouldn’t be able to finish off the set as Enderlin would battle back and take the set at 27-25 on their 2nd set point.
Set 3 saw the set start out like the previously sets with 5 ties and 3 lead changes till 13-13. The Eagles would then push forward and jump to a 20-13 lead. Oakes would attempt to come back and get it down to 20-15 but Enderlin would lock in and take the set and match winning 25-19.
